Simon Says Stamp 5 Cards 1 Kit August 2018

Image
Hello!

Today I finally got the chance to create with the SSS August Card Kit. This kit is beautiful and probably one of my favorites. The kit is still available and is jammed packed full!

I used multiple, fun techniques for the five cards including a very inexpensive way to create a fun background  using rubber bands and also using gel pens to stamp trace. I hope these card inspire you not only with the use of your kit, but in other projects as well.

Have a great day!

Stretching Your Stencil- 9 ways 1 Brutus Monroe Stencil

Image
Hello!

I was reorganizing my craft space last week and realized that I have a lot of stencils that I do not use, some I have never used. I am sure I am not the only one. 😉Stencils are inexpensive and some are amazing so why don't I use them more?? I came to the conclusion that I get stuck in a "one technique rut." I look at stencils and I think ink blending, especially since Ranger and Tim Holtz brought Distress Oxide into my life and made it soo easy. As I was tossing and turning in bed later that night I came up with 9 different ways using products I have in my craft room or could get easily. I decided to use one stencil to show the 9 techniques.

I purchased the Birthday Circle stencil from Brutus Monroe in June when I visited the store, fabulous place, if you are in or near Pittsburgh you must go, I decided to use it for my one stencil.

Technique #1- Stencil Stamping
This technique is very simple, inexpensive and my favorite. Did you know that you can use your stenci…

Image
Hello!

Today the newest sketch challenge from My Favorite Things was posted. Each Wednesday MFT has a new sketch challenge. They choose one random winner each week to receive a 50.00 MFT gift certificate. I loved the simplicity of this weeks challenge and decided to create a Christmas in July card using my favorite stamp from the 2017 Christmas season,  Happy Pawlidays along with the Paw Print background stamp that was released earlier this year (2018.)
Sketch Challenge #394

I decided to try a technique for the first time for this card. I heat embossed vellum and used MFT hybrid ink in green and red to ink up the vellum. It turned out so pretty and it was simple. to create. My mind has been going crazy with all of the ideas for future cards using this technique.

First, I inked up the background stamp with clear embossing ink. After using an anti-static tool on the vellum I gently placed the vellum on the stamp. To aid in the transfer of the ink to the vellum I placed a sheet of copy pap…
