Bluebonnets and Bluebell

Yesterday I picked up a new wood-mounted stamp by Deadbeat Designs. They carry a wide variety of stamps including many that are Texas themed. The stamp I used for this card is a bunch of bluebonnets in a Blue Bell ice cream container. If you are not familiar with Blue Bell ice cream it is phenomenal!!  The homemade vanilla taste just like it the ice cream my sisters and I made turned in my grandparents hand crank ice cream maker. YUM!!! Back to the card, now that I am craving ice cream. :)

I used Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide for the sky and Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the grass area using Picket Fence Life Changing Blending Brushes.  The MFT clouds stencil was used with Tumbled Glass to create the clouds.

To create the grass I used Lawn Fawn grassy border to make two layers of grass. I wanted the blue bell container to fit in between the layers of grass.

The stamp was stamped in MFT Extreme Black ink. I decided to use copics to color the stamp and this is a great copic friendly ink.
The bluebonnets were colored with B25 and B28. The ice cream container was colored with E21 and E13. This is a wood-mounted stamp, there is not a coordinating die available,. that meant I had to fussy cut which it not my favorite thing to do, but I really wanted the stamp to have dimension on the card.

Once the stamp was colored and cut I built the card using a layer of MFT craft paper and a dark blue cardstock from Brutus Monroe. the entire panel was glued to a Neenah 110 lb cardbase using Gina K connect glue.

Check out all of the great stamps available at Deadbeat Designs

  1. Do you know how to contact Deadbeat Designs now that their website is closed? I really wanted to order from them and found out a couple weeks too late that their website is closed. Any help would be appreciated. I love your Blue Bell ice cream card. We grew up on Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla.
